stretched out on the couch, elysia made herself right at home. except, she definitely wasn't at home. more like, she was a home invader. to be fair though, she was pretty sure this was 'earned'. relaxing in none other than enlil vindr's own home, she had gathered pillows from everywhere within his house to make herself feel as comfortable as possible from her current 'spot' - i.e, his couch. gods, it was small, how the hell did he even stretch out? and why were the cushions so stiff? grumbling as she tossed and turned, she eventually settled after placing the pillows all around her body, a content sigh leaving her lips.
it didn't help that he didn't have most of the snacks nor food she commonly ate either. at the very best, she managed to find some chips that were of an interesting flavor and weren't...bad. it didn't stop her from charring them with her electricity though - she...had a weird taste. she'd admit to that much. crunching on them and enjoying her time within his home as though it were her own, what had warranted such an invasion, she didn't make known. honestly, how she even managed to get inside his house wasn't apparent either, given no window was broken.
he...might've found that the door handle was a bit...loose. if not out of place completely.
speaking of door - when it abruptly opened, the slayer paused, her head perking up like a deer caught in headlights as she stared as a 'certain someone' entered his domain. "oh...you're not supposed to be here this early- i mean." she gave a 'sincere' smile as she cleared her voice.
"welcome home, sweetie!"
enlil vindr // lemma know if u need me to change something bb. i just wanted a casual social :pepehands:
[attr="class","starrytext"]disgusting. she entered his home without permission. not only did he return from a job, but he returned home to a bothersome individual. "she-bitch," he called her. disgusted by her presence, he wanted her to just leave and disappear. standing at the entrance enlil had an idea. "oh."
he closed the door.
waiting for a second, he'd reopen the door. "shit, you're still here." groceries in one hand. he'd make way for the fridge. "this isn't an inn, don't you have your own home to go?" he commented. opening the fridge and placing an assortment of items within it. "you literally don't have to be here." didn't she have to go be a hostess at that weird cradle anyway.
"don't you have a guild to go prostitute in?" cat's cradle was an odd guild to enlil. they were bigger and far more popular than magia dragon, or any other guild for that matter. of all the ways to spend her time she chooses to waste it by making a trip to the town with which he stayed in near magia dragon.

when the door closed, the woman merely...stared. similar to a cat caught in the action of doing something wrong, as soon as he went out of sight...she continued doing exactly what she was doing. cuddling back into the pillows and munching. except, he came back. "why're you still here," the silvery haired woman complained with a small tsk.
watching him whilst she peeked at him from over the armrest, she huffed loudly at his statements, an even louder sigh coming from her lips as he continued. gods, he was so...mean. maybe if she beat it into him a couple of times, he'd remember to be a bit...kinder? a small scoff came from her lips as the woman roused herself to her tall height, sauntering over to him. an arm linked over his shoulders, if only so she could nose through the grocery bag and see what goodies he had to bring. casually reaching and taking out a hunk of meat he literally just placed down.
"you're gonna make me cry if you keep insulting me," elysia sniffled. although, it was hard to see any tears within her eyes as she began to stuff her face and her deadpanned expression remained the same. "is it wrong for me to come and visit a friend?" arm still linked over his shoulder, she began to pinch at his cheeks, "i worry about you, y'know? maybe the kids at the guild are being mean to him? maybe he got kicked out because he's occasionally a little shit? i gotta make sure you're eating right too," she listed, taking a pause to take yet another big bite.
"a 'thank you for caring,' would be nice some times, ya know?"
[attr="class","starrytext"]"i thought it was pretty clear that once i left you didn't have to keep looking after me." plus, he was pretty sure he repaid her the rent money--or so he thought. but no use in sweating the small stuff. "anyway, my time at this guild has been plentiful." continuing to shuffle about within the fridge. a stale expression remained even with the pinch o his cheek.
"being nice is exhausting. i practically do it everyday. it's exhausting!" he whined. playing nice wasn't his forte. hand the requests that guild got was crap. everything on the board was crap. for such an established guild they sure received crapped jobs. "i've done everything on that board and nothing has satisfied me yet." seriously, talk about a tease. he got so into conversation that he forgot he wanted her gone.
"half of the requests are so easy a child of the guild could do it." thinking back to what they've done so far. none of them looked to remotely have any lead or knowledge on where to find his dragon parent. though, at the moment, enlil wasn't too interested on finding him these days. more so he was interested in learning a bit more about his birth if anything. "oi." he uttered, staring within the fridge as he'd come to a halt.
"tell me about your birth..." enlil requested.

there was a heavy roll of the female's golden eyes, a sigh soon rousing itself from her lips as well. "that's not how friendship works, nitwit," her statement was a bit softer, muffled by the fact that she was stuffing her mouth. she didn't exactly expect him to understand - and, that was fine. even if their relationship was...odd. perhaps even slightest one-sided at all, it gave her a bit of piece of mind to know that he wasn't....dying, or something. she did care, surprisingly enough.
"the nicer you are, the easier it'll get. its like training." still, a smile curled onto her lips as she listened to him explain his time at the guild, a small chuckle eventually rousing from her lips. there was a point in time where he complained so much about the guild, she feared he'd simply destroy the place due to disliking it so much. it was good to see he was fitting in...well, as much as he could, anyway. moving away from where her arm was looped around his shoulder, she'd plant herself onto his counter-top, legs swinging back and forth.
her lips parted, prepared to give him some semblance of encouragement that he'd eventually find a request that'd sate his needs...until he asked that question. it wasn't often, if at all, people asked about her younger days. they weren't exactly overemotional for her or anything - or, maybe that was because she forced herself to become so numb to it? to where it couldn't bother her anymore? she wasn't sure. "c'mere." she suddenly stated, voice a bit more firm as she patted the space of open counter top next to her. Leaning back slightly to where her head leaned against the cabinet, a smile curled on her lips. "my birth, huh?"
"far away from here - it was in the mountains. my mother used to be the leader of a tribe of people there. my tribe is- was...odd. fearsome hunters and warmongers, but...i always remembered them being so warm. she was a brave woman though. a good leader. someone thought they could be a better leader. and so, they revolted. she was killed and iiii," she yawned slightly, idly scratching at her cheek, trying to figure out a way to explain it.
"you know how nobles release beasts into their gardens to hunt? it gives the fleeting experience of a hunt without worry that their prey will ever escape. the prey doesn't know the difference though, and they fight for their lives nonetheless. you could say, in a way, they played a similar game with me until they got bored once i stopped fighting back." she remembered it clear as day - the moment in which she stopped caring to survive, and the desire to simply perish was immense. it was satisfying, seeing their disgusted look when their 'prey' came willingly to their arms. and pointed blades.
"tossed out into the wilderness for the beasts to feed on, that's when i eventually met dad- ah, the lightning dragon." a small grin formed on her lips.
wait, then he thought about it. it'd be a hassle if she tore the place apart because he didn't listen. she already ate half of his power. standing up he'd close the fridge and lean upon the counter. he wouldn't sit on top, he was going to rebel.
he listened intently to her story. so she knew as to who her birth parent was, but was adopted by a dragon--just like enlil. there stories were similar, but also not. at least they had a mutual hatred (he assumed) toward the rich. but his was more or so at the crown than the noble people. "at least you knew your mother, so it wasn't all bad." he thought aloud. arms folded and head lowered as he tried to think of a proper response.
"you knew your mother and you clearly have memories of her." color him amazed, "that's something to be really proud of--to possess a memory like that." she had a briefly horrible childhood. compared to his where he suffered since he was a child. he would never admit it--probably couldn't even if he wanted to--but he was sort of jealous. if anything you could even say envious. "that also explains why you're such a rabid beast and lack the proper personality of a woman with class." he added, ruining the moment without a care.
"i still don't get how someone like you entered cat's cradle. isn't that a guild for the poised and polished, not the barbaric and beastly." he poked at. teasing the female for no reason necessary.

'such a brat,' the woman thought to herself, but, there was a subtle smile to her lips. what she once found utterly irritating, and perhaps even alien, about him she'd grown to, begrudgingly, adore. enlil was just...enlil, she guessed. and she'd come to accept him for that. that still didn't mean she hesitated in attempting to beat the crap outta him when he went a bit too far with his usual...self.
she paused for a moment, listening to his words and giving a slow nod. her feelings upon knowing her mother were a bit more...complex than that. there was a hidden guilt she possessed, albeit childish, but, was there. however, there was little point in bringing it up. the past was done. her mother was dead, and that was that. still, he had a point. for whatever suffering she endured in her childhood to the constant stream of terribleness he endured in his own, she had pleasant memories of her early days. "its hard to remember her face and voice," the woman abruptly stated. there was the slightest bit of guilt that tinged her tone, but, she soon nodded, a wide smile coming onto her lips. even if she couldn't, the warm feelings of the good life she once lived was still there. "you're not wrong tho-"
and, he ruined it. honestly, she expected it. a 'nice' moment with enlil never lasted long.
eye twitching ever so slightly, her arm once against slung over his shoulders in a more casual, friendly like grasp...until it turned incredibly firm and rough as she headlocked the man. Her fist met the top of his head in a rough noogie that was rough enough to even generate a few sparks of electricity. Or, maybe she was just shocking him on purpose. "shut up, i have plenty of womanly grace and uh...what is it? posture?...tch, shut up!" she scoffed softly. "i still feel guilty for dumping you off at magia dragon. you sure they haven't kicked you out yet? lemma see your guild mark," she taunted.
eventually, she let him go, letting out a breath as her head rested back against the cabinets and staring off into space. "hey, en?"
[attr="class","starrytext"]"would you cut that out?!" he annoying shouted at the barbaric woman. pulling away from her. he'd begin to fix his hair. the one thing he hated most was electricity for this reason alone, especially because it was in the hand of someone like her. if he could remove magic she'd be the first person worth extracting.
"guild mark? of course i'm not kicked out. unlike everyone there, i'm the sanest there." surprisingly, though maybe it was ezrik. no he was too much of a stickler. anyway, she wanted to see a guild mark, so he'd show her. raising his shirt and lowering his pants a little, the mark could be found upon his left torso above yet near the v-line.
"i wanted to put it on my tongue, but then i realized i kind of liked the mark. why not put it somewhere i can show it off every now and then." he cockily grinned. but before he could say anything else she called his name. "ah, what do you want?" he asked. looking toward direction.

a soft chuckle came from her lips as her victorious grin returned. annoying him was, by far, one of her favorite things to do. her head gave the slightest tilt as she followed his shirt rising to see - ah, yes his guild mark. she couldn't help but smile, even if it was faint. really, getting him to join a damned guild in the first place had been one of the most difficult things the woman had ever done. he was a stubborn little shit, she'd give him that. but, she wouldn't deny the sense of satisfaction it brought her. if just a peace of mind as well. whether he wanted to see it as such a place or not, being within a guild promised a place to belong and return to, even if everything else was lost. "the tongue? that's gross." she couldn't help but comment. 'that's actually pretty sick, why didn't i think of it first? ugh, stupid.'
seeing as she had his attention, she briefly dropped her typically mischievous, insouciant demeanor. her face grew a bit more serious - a rare moment for the woman, who seemed to think of life as one big fighting game more often than not. "you're still looking for him, yea?" by 'him' she, of course meant his dragon parent.
[attr="class","starrytext"]'she totally thought it was sick,' enlil thought to himself.
it wasn't until she asked of enlil's goal to reunite with his dragon parent. "him?" he repeated, confused at first. "oooh..." it didn't hit him until a few seconds. ociel the sky dragon, the one who taught him the magic he uses this day. "that's right, ociel." thinking about it for a brief second. his gaze shifted to the side for a moment, "mmm...no." he stated bluntly.
"either dad's dead or he just doesn't want to be found." either way, it was the royal family's fault for their separation to begin with--or so he believed. "i remember returning to the forest that day before i was taken from that place. he wasn't there when i returned." little did enlil know. dragons couldn't be killed so easily by humans, but it was ironic that his father disappeared without a trace. "maybe he's still alive and testing me. to see if i'll be able to do some complex magic or something." to which, if he was. that was a bad idea. he had no interest in learning the enchantment aspect of his abilities.
"and if he's relying on me to learn some new crap and is putting me through a test. well, he better hope i don't obtain immortality or else he'll die of old age waiting for me to learn or pass this test." it was pretty clear that, after long years, ociel was probably dead. but, for now, that wasn't the focus of his target. "besides, i'm more interested in learning about my birth parents these days."

eyes trained onto him as he answered, the girl was shocked slightly by his answer. perhaps she was expecting him to be fixated on finding his dragon parent, similar to herself. but, then again, enlil was...pretty different from her, she guessed. or perhaps he did care about finding ociel, somewhere within that confused, little heart of his. either way, his mind did seem made up, which was good. and it wasn't hellbent on massacring anyone - although...she was positive that was still up for debate. that really wasn't any of her business though, was it? she could only do so much with him. and just getting him not to be a complete sociopath was reaching her limits.
regardless, elysia only sighed, a small laugh coming from her lips. "you've...really made up your mind, huh? and here i was, worried that you were still looking for daddy." she cracked out a smirk, although, it faltered when he mentioned his birth parents. eyes narrowed, confusion played upon her face and she didn't bother trying to hide it.
[attr="class","starrytext"]"not really." there were a lot of outcomes that could occur upon finding out who they were. either way, he'd be disappointed in the end. at least that's what he kept telling himself. "i'm too old to really care as much as i did when i was a child. i met ociel, he filled that void a child needed. i had enough love to sustain me." but that was only temporary. nonetheless, it was a memory. and that's all he needed.
"there's a big chance for disappointment anyway, ain't it? i mean, i don't even know how i'd react to them telling me they 'accidentally misplaced me'. i don't know if i'd laugh or just walk away." being misplaced was something he'd always assumed to be the case. it was a slim chance, but still a possibility. "anyway, isn't natural for an orphan to wanna find out about the people who gave birth to them?" he stared blankly at Elysia Vadala. only for his expression to turn into a smirk, "don't tell me you're worried i'll ditch you or something?" was she that attached to him? "jealousy doesn't suit you, it's too girly."

as much as she hated to admit it - and as much as she wasn't going to ever do so - he...had a point. in a morbid, perhaps almost sociopath kind of way. "he was still a father to you, one way or another. way more than any actual parent, as far as you know," the woman retorted, but, didn't go and further than that. she refused to believe though that he simply just, 'didn't care'. or, perhaps she was just projecting her own emotions of how she felt about her missing dragon parent onto him. hm.
"i guess," the pale haired woman muttered out, trying to wrap her head around what a meeting between he and his parents would be like. tch, if anything, she wanted some sort of compensation for the amount of trauma and headache he put her thorough. still, she supposed she was, if just slightly, curious about his parents. what sort of people were they? why did they abandon him? were they even alive? her train of thought was abruptly halted when he had the nerve to give her that stupid, idiotic taunt. glowering at him for a moment, elysia only scoffed. "i'll be happy the day you're finally out of my hair. i'll finally stop feeling guilty that i helped bring a psychopath into the city - oi, i'm totally girly by the way. shut up, stupid."
she began to rummage through his things once more as various drawers slid open. she knew he had to have at least one hanging around somewhere. finally, she found what she was looking for - a stray battery. it was brought to her lips in an almost cigar like manner, as electricity visibly trailed from it and to her lips. "what do you think they're like?" she paused, adding in a more quieter, perhaps even more concerned tone, "what if they're nothing like you imagined?"
[attr="class","starrytext"]"stop stealing my things." he uttered in disgust. and why was she rummaging through his belongs? there was a thing called personal space.
most girls don't use such masculine language like 'oi'. but saying that out loud would only make her wanna hurt him so he'd like to refrain from a static-y situation again. "what do i think they're like? i probably get my attitude from my father but..." he'd stare at elysia for more than a minute to two. it'd be awful if such a side was obtained from his mother. he really imagined to be something else. that would be dream crushing if she held a spitting image of her.
"let's move on." he wanted to avoid speaking aloud on what he just thought. "if they're nothing like i imagined then i guess i'll just have to look forward to becoming an adventurer." scratching the nape of his neck. back then he wanted to become an adventurer, just like the man who his name was derived from. "my name was given to me by ociel. it was from some man he literally only had one interaction with. a human who was traveling and off on an adventure." he'd chuckle.
"thinking about it now, he made it sound like the guy was some pirate searching for paradise." if he could call that paradise by name, he'd think aloud, "if i remember correctly, the story went that if he could call that 'paradise' by name. he'd probably call it 'one piece', because, like the source of all magic, it was inside of him. the man who spent half his life traveling discovered some load of crap like that. it was pretty dorky when i think about the story now--and dumb." seriously, it didn't make any sense.

ignoring his complaint, despite it being justified, she continued to 'eat' the battery. the electricity it gave always tasted kinda...weird. nothing like lamp posts, and actual lightning was by far the tastiest thing she'd ever eaten. too bad he had none of that stored in a jar somewhere.
she stared back at him as he stared at her with a blank, 'what' expression. an attitude from his dad, eh? yeah, that had to come from somewhere. "or maybe your mother's more 'barbaric' than you think," the snide remark easily fell from her lips, despite being oblivious to the similar thoughts that ran through her head. thankfully, the slayer didn't taunt him any further, as she instead focused on paying attention to his story. the origin of his name, eh?
of course, the story that once seemed almost a bit endearing was slowly torn apart by the sky slayer. "you know that means your calling your own name dumb then, yea?" she grinned slightly, letting out a little chuckle. "its called having a dream. its different than a goal. you aren't sure if you'll find it; you're not even sure if its possible. but, its something you want more than anything else. its usually not the end result that co- why am i wasting my time explaining this to you," the woman trailed off with a little sigh as she rubbed the back of her neck.
"hey- wait," she suddenly bristled, turning to glower at him. "if all you want is adventure, then why the hell didn't you join cats cradle? you can't possibly hate me that much!"
