WATER DRAGON FEST
The portside Town of Elmina is holding their annual Water Dragon Festival in honor of the Water Dragon Waka. Water Dragon Waka is a known foodie, so there will be a cooking competition held by the city lord as well as a variety of street vendors set up to celebrate the festivities. Additionally, the royal family of Valeria will be holding a hunt in the nearby Pouring Rainforest in honor of this event. This forest is controlled terrain so they will be releasing captive beasts into it. Choose. Do you want to help or hinder with these activities? The choices are yours.

Gabriel Alastair, heir to the Alastair clan, famous mercenary and monster hunter who also happened to be the Shadow Dragon Slayer, a man with skills and talent that any mage would kill for was now using that skill to find a cat.
His ancestors were all probably rolling in their graves right now at the sight of their descendant doing something so mundane. Honestly, he wasn’t going to bother with such a boring job anyway but after having met with the client of the mission how could he possibly say no to a woman like that?
Did he regret not saying no? Yes, yes he did but here he was and now he had to finish the mess he got himself into. A pretty face went a long way in getting the man to do whatever, especially if they knew just the right words to say.
He knew the game that was played and the rules and he still somehow managed to get blindsided. And to make matters even worse he apparently was going to be working with someone. Why in the world did more than one person have to join in finding this stupid cat?
Gabriel could be found in the back alley behind a restaurant, the last spotting of the cat. It likes to go dumpster diving back here to find food. From the sounds of it, the cat acted like it owned the city and gave little care for what anyone else was doing, so it was definitely acted like a regular cat for sure.
He’d try to find some signs of the cat and maybe where it was going before hitting up another spot it was known to hang out at. This all still felt incredibly silly to him, a child could be doing this why hire mages? Regardless money was money and he agreed to do this.
[attr="class","starrytext"]underneath Gabriel Alastair slid a creature as matching the color of a shadow. between his legs it ran, but clashing into the mage face first the very man he'd be teaming up with to hunt a cat. without warning, the collision between Gabriel Alastair and enlil would hurt.
running into the shadow user. enlil would come to fall atop of him. standing up only to then fall back down upon his buttocks. he'd begin to rub his forehead, saying, "the hell did i run into, an armored skeleton..." the silver haired male uttered. enlil would come to set eyes upon Gabriel Alastair. "hey, you were in my way and now i've lost sight of my target. you gonna pay me or what?" he asked lazily, outstretching his hand awaiting for payment. it wasn't easy to find a job this month. and the one time he snags one, though small, he's intercepted by some random creep.
standing and dusting his clothing off. he'd place a single hand upon his hip, "great, now it's going to take forever to find that cat again. seriously, you gonna pay me? i rather head home now." looking around, he'd also ask, "ah. i wonder if that guy who's suppose to find a cat with me has shown up. oi, pointy brow, you seen someone looking for a cat around here?" enlil asked, unaware that Gabriel Alastair was his partner.

That damn cat was close, Gabriel could smell it. In fact it was almost as if the cat was racing straight toward him….no the damn thing was! If he could spot it before it could run out of sight then he should be able to stop it in its tracks using his shadow.
Didn’t matter how much of a pain in the ass it might be if it couldn’t move an inch. Be an easy day of work all he had to do was get glimpse of it. As if on some sort of comedic cue, something crashed right into the Slayer causing him to miss the cat.
He managed to catch a glimpse of something run by but he couldn’t do much about it. ”The hell?” He’d collect himself and face whatever was dumb enough to run into him and boy was it a mouthy thing. And what a pair on this kid to start accusing Gabriel of some wrongdoing when he was the one who ran into him!
”I’m not even sure where to start with the dumb shit you just said.” Gabriel growled, ready to tear into the silver-haired male but something more important came up.
The shadow slayer rubbed his brows as the realization that this was going to be his partner for this job. ” Well great going boy blunder you managed to find him.” Gabriel remarked, shaking his head at this sorry state of a mage.
”And if you hadn’t knocked into me I’d have already caught that damn cat and we’d be done by now so I think you owe me! C’mon now pay up, I expect you to take responsibility for your mistakes.” This was going swimmingly. ”Hopefully it didn’t manage to get too far. Where’d you manage to find this thing in the first place?”
[attr="class","starrytext"]the man began to yell a lot of nonsense. in the midst of his shouting enlil would bypass him. scanning the area with an uninterested look in what the man had to say. "wow, you're a real slacker." he commented. thoughhe had no right to say such a thing considering he was the worse of the worst.
"ah. . ." where did he find it? he thought about it. a look of confusion as he tried to remember. "i forgot." no wait, he'd change his answer, "oh, i remember!" wait, was he sure that's where he found it? "yes, i remember." a fist collided with the palm of his hand. smiling he'd say, "i found it in a dumpster." that's right, it was a dumpster cat.
"do you have some sort of spell that can see where it is now?!" enlil stated merrily. alright, they were gonna finish this earlier. meaning he could go do other things. thank god this guy wasn't all that useless. "let's go find this dumpster cat. come on, come on, use the spell." as if he had anything like that. enlil was better off relying on his nostrils.

This guy was a perfect example of why old people always complained about the younger generation. And just thinking that made Gabriel feel much older than he actually was. He let out a deep sigh, shaking his head at the kid’s mannerisms and the answer Gabriel got to his question.
”Ah how wonderful that you remembered.” He rolled his eyes, not exactly getting much from what this kid had said. Maybe Gabriel should have been a bit more specific in his questioning but he felt even if he had been this was about as useful as this guy was going to get.
Deciding that Enlil would basically be no help, Gabriel turned to the direction that the cat ran off in. It was definitely in a hurry seeing the mess it left behind and the trial thereafter. This would be a useful start in tracking it down again.
”A spell to do what?” He gave Enlil a confused look. ”No I don’t have any spell like that. What I’m talking about with stop the cat in its tracks, it won’t be able to move.” He explained as he started to follow the trail of chaos that was left behind by the cat.
”As long as I can get it within in range I’ll be able to immobilize it and then we can grab the damn thing. Easy day as long as SOMEONE doesn’t manage to screw things.” It looked as if the cat was heading toward the markets. That was a great place to lose all trace of it but it’d probably cause some sort of issues so it might be easier to know what it’s up to.
[attr="class","starrytext"]"can't you smell it?" did this guy also have a poor sense of smell? the cat was practically reeking. enlil had been following it by scent this entire time, but each time it merely escaped. "that thing has the scent of old curry." pinching the bridge of his nose he could finally get some rest and leave it to this guy. he'd rather track it normally than by scent, save his nostrils the trouble.
"oh yeah, you're right." enlil patronized. "i'm so glad to have ran into you, please help me. i was so lost without you and..." he'd think for his next reply, "and yeah. that's it, let's do this. you got a lead, stranger danger?" he asked the unnamed companion. 'it literally headed into one direction, let's just get moving, already.' enlil thought to himself.

Gabriel hadn’t bothered about trying to pick up any sort of scent. The entire place smelled something foul, adding another one on top of that wouldn’t really help.
”Follow this trail of crap. Apparently, outside of dumpster diving, the cat likes to visit this old lady’s shop. She feeds it treats and it likes to lounge out on her porch. One of the few people the cat likes.” The cat left a trail of garbage in its wake; it’d be easy to follow that for as long as it lasted. And that trial is what Gabriel pointed to when his rather rude companion asked him about a lead concerning the cat.
Following this trail would lead them out of the alley and into the streets. Of course of days this one would be a lively one. People had been flooding the streets as they went about their business. The cat wasn’t exactly the fondest of people so it’d be looking for some peace and quiet away from the busyness of the streets.
Not being able to avoid the crowds it was easy to tell where the cat was going once the physical trial had died down, the smell mixed with its desire to get away from people its haste had it brushing past people.
”There you are you little shit.” He’d caught sight of it and with that Gabriel’s shadow took off after it. If he could manage to grab it now then the job was over but he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t being a bit hasty.
His shadow had almost caught it but instead it ended up snatching a bird that landed in the way. ”God damn it. Dumb bird.” And the sky rat was flung out of the way. Now they’d have to venture further in to try and find it. Luckily that smell it reeked off was more important now than ever and more people were starting to notice. Catching it before it made for it's new destination would be nice.
