WATER DRAGON FEST
The portside Town of Elmina is holding their annual Water Dragon Festival in honor of the Water Dragon Waka. Water Dragon Waka is a known foodie, so there will be a cooking competition held by the city lord as well as a variety of street vendors set up to celebrate the festivities. Additionally, the royal family of Valeria will be holding a hunt in the nearby Pouring Rainforest in honor of this event. This forest is controlled terrain so they will be releasing captive beasts into it. Choose. Do you want to help or hinder with these activities? The choices are yours.

Tear tracks stained her face as she found herself floating down the lazy river. Her hair, a silver sheet of spun silk and angora, curved beneath her forming a half-moon crescent. Imbued with magical properties, it served as her boat and her rows, keeping her dry. A ghastly howl escaped her, as her eyes darted around her surroundings in a hushed flurry. Thick trees ripe with lang berries lined her field of vision, blinding her from point A to point B.

“I’m lost...”
[break][break]
Weakly mewing, she hugged her knees to her chest and sobbed. She was just trying to make her way to the Water Dragon Festival, so how had she ended up here. Grinding her thumb between sharp teeth, she let out another exasperated sound. “How do I even get out of this river?! I can’t swim!”
”You can’t swim?” A young sounding voice asked, calling out to the young woman from a distance away. By the sound of it, the voice seems to be coming from above. If Ishtar were too look up she would see that a young boy was occupying a tree branch. Said tree branch was stretch out over the river, belonging to a tree that stood next to it. The boy had wild hair with a brown color too it. It looked as if a bird could make its home there, if given the chance.
”Are you stupid or something?” The smile on his face wouldn’t make that sound any less bad than it already was. It probably only added to the girl’s despair. As the small laugh that followed probably did as well. ”You probably are. What sort of person goes into a river if they can’t swim? No matter!” The boy took a final bite from a berry and tossed the remains to the ground.
”This good forest boy will help this hairy lady!” Cheering aloud, he jumped from his tree branch and dived into the water. When he got to Ishtar an arm would wrap around the girl as the other helped to swim back to the nearby shore.
“’I’M SORRY! I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING!” she cried, thinking that the trees had started speaking to her. Furiously rowing the boat with her hair paddles, she turned herself in circles and floundered about. Even nature itself was laughing at her. In her embarrassment, she hadn’t even realized that the voice was coming from a young jungle boy even smaller than herself. [break][break]
Only as the boy dove down from the trees to save her, did the realization don on her that in this forest there was someone else. The shock and shame of being ridiculed and subsequently saved by a child was even more crippling than being laughed at by the goddess Rebecca herself. She turned bright red, and her hair exploded into a frazzled mess. Giant tears leaked out her eyes as she stared towards the sky in disbelief. [break][break]
“G-goddess Rebecca... you’ve truly abandoned me....” she muttered.
As you two make each others acquaintance the hunt finally begins. The loud sound of trumpets blaring out from the distance mark the start of this annual event. With the two of you now on land safe and sound it was time to get on with things. In front of you are three different paths, each would lead to a different outcome. [break][break] The first path of the three is a sloshy mud path that spreads out to the right from where you two are currently standing. It is a very narrow path enclosed with branches that will poke at you. Though the path is narrow and hard to traverse, it is rather short and anyone with exceptional eyes would be able to make out the exit from the beginning of the road. [break][break] The second path, the middle path is oddly illuminated, probably because of the amount of Ethernano concentrated in the area. It is the most aesthetically pleasing path, as well as the one, were without a second thought one would think "oh, this looks easy". However, anyone with good senses would feel the bloodlust coming from that area. [break][break] The final path, the one to the left is filled with flowers and grass. Noises that might be high-pitched voices can be heard coming from the path. The chattering never stops, but you can't tell if it's actually a voice or something different entirely. [break][break] Your choices will affect the remainder of this event. I wish you luck! Any questions message spade or dm me on discord! HAVE FUN.
The young boy guided the older teen to the shore of the river, maneuvering himself around the girl and getting a grip onto her. This allowed him to push her out of the river and onto the ground. ”There we go! Out of the water and onto dry land.” Or as dry as it can get with two soaking wet teens onto it, making the ground anything by dry.
”Not sure why you didn’t just use your magic hair to row you towards the shore.” Hilbert said with obvious confusion and climbed onto shore, after getting the older girl out first. Guess she was too busy crying to herself to think right. That was a pretty funny thought in Hilbert’s mind, but he shifted his thoughts to other things for the time being.
”Oh don’t be like that lady. Just think of me as a guardian angel Rebecca sent, to get you out of that river before you eventually drowned.” A smile was directed to her, without caring for how wet his body and clothes were. They’ll just dry up after being in open for a while. The only problem was the lack of sun because of the cover given by the trees.
”Your here for the festival and the hunt right?” The question was directed at the only other person here, but Hilbert didn’t wait for a reply. It was obvious that the girl was here for the festival because everyone was here for it. Literally everyone. He found this to be a great thing for him because there was still no one to help him with the festival events. He can’t just go at it alone! ”Lucky for you, I just so happen to be on my way to attend as well.” Taking the girl by the hand, he began to both guide and drag her towards a path, that was filled with grass and many flowers. ”I’ll bet your alone too, so just stick with me for the whole thing!”
Ishtar had hardly moved, but she was feeling debilitated. Dragged along by the brunette boy, she barely kept up with his pace and conversation. “W-well uhm!” she stuttered out, stiffly maneuvering over roots and flowers. Growing up she was hardly outdoors, and living as a vagrant it was rare for her to partner up with others.
[break][break]
The path she was led towards was picturesque; lined with meadow grass and fresh flowers. It was a peaceful scene, hardly fit for a hunt. Reaching two fingers up to pinch her cheeks, as her nerves began calming, she noticed something was wrong. There was... a buzzing? A chatter? Blinking twice she paused in place and looked around. The sound was incessant. [break][break] "Wait. Do you hear that?"
The two of you walk along the picturesque path with no problem. One of you shows their enthusiasm much more than the other. As you keep walking, you notice the path becoming more lush with greenery and flowers. A completely different scene compared to that muddy road from earlier. [break][break] The noise gets louder the closer you get to the exit. It seems to be coming from more than one source. Though it is not a voice, it's as if something was trying to mimic the human language in a very odd and creepy way. Therefore your mind feels like it's familiar at first until you actually realize the source of the commotion. [break][break] The end of the path leads to a vast clearing of greenery, flowers, while trees line the edges of the clearing in a wide circle that connects to the path you just emerged from. In the distance, you see the source of all the noise you've heard till now. Two odd creatures that looked like the result of a fusion between a carrot and onion, seemingly connected to the earth, stood there staring at you. Well, not really staring as they had no eyes, only mouths, where the noise came from. They were tall enough to reach your knees. [break][break] They remained still, with mouths agape producing their usual human-like noises. It's obvious this is what you had to defeat, as there was nothing else around. What will you do?
The scene that had transpired brought up a valid question. Was he technically kidnapping this lady? He started to drag her around without her permission and hasn’t even asked for her name, like a normal person would. Taking this into consideration, yes, it would be kidnapping. However, Hilbert really didn’t care if it was or wasn’t. For him, this was simply a way of trying to help another person accomplish their goal. This lady wasn’t gonna make to by herself, obviously, so it was up to him to help her out. He may even end up as her friend too! That’ll be cool, right?
Any potential thoughts of his action quickly faded as soon as they started to walk down their chosen path. The lush green and beautiful flowers made Hilbert shut his mouth and simply take in the sights. Ishtar could clearly see his awe stricken eyes from the sight alone. Being raised in the forest, things like this were common place, but it never failed to captivate Hilbert. Not even once.
”Hm? What’s up? Did you stop crying yet?” The young boy was brought out of his trace and turned his head to face Ishtar. He then notice the noise that she was trying to tell him about, finally. Chattering? What could possibly be making that noise? His answer came to him after they reached a clearing. The source appeared to be creatures that were a blend between a carrot and an onion.
She hadn’t stopped crying. In fact, Ishtar was about to start crying even more. Starring at those toddler-sized vegetables with half human faces... there was something unnerving about the way that they moved. Rooted into the earth, they bobbed their heads as if they were alive. Vegetables weren’t supposed to be alive. ”It’s gross...” she muttered, pulling her twitching lip down into a frown.
[break][break]
”We-we should get rid of them and keep moving. At the end of the day, they’re both monsters...” she explained level-headed. Whipping her head forward, the silver locks draping her back turned into a pair of sterling-edged scissors. Though the Rebecca’s Church often taught lessons of justice and morals, beasts were still nothing more than large pests. Casting Angora scissors, her hair snapped towards one of the carrot beasts aiming to cut it in half. Though she was thankful they hadn’t run into anything huge, the faster she could get out the forest the better.
A narrows glare was sent in the direction of his companion. ”That’s just rude. How would you like it if someone called you gross.” He might do it himself if she kept that up. Honestly, there was no reason to act like that to such adorable little creatures of the forest. The need to take them and bring them home as pets was growing greatly, within him. However, it started to become suppressed after remembering what they came here to do.
”Wow. That’s even ruder than calling them gross. You’ll hurt their feelings by calling them monsters.” Despite his personal thoughts, he was still content with fighting them to the death. That was nature at its finest. When two beings fight it out to see who is on top of the food chain.
Not waisting anymore time to shame his partner, he cast Crushing Rock Bullet, one of his only offensives spells, and sent it hurling at the other carrot beast.
