WATER DRAGON FEST
The portside Town of Elmina is holding their annual Water Dragon Festival in honor of the Water Dragon Waka. Water Dragon Waka is a known foodie, so there will be a cooking competition held by the city lord as well as a variety of street vendors set up to celebrate the festivities. Additionally, the royal family of Valeria will be holding a hunt in the nearby Pouring Rainforest in honor of this event. This forest is controlled terrain so they will be releasing captive beasts into it. Choose. Do you want to help or hinder with these activities? The choices are yours.

[attr="class,"memoryDarkbody"]Though he was a mage of Niflheim, Caprisun gave him the freedom to do as he wished during the Water Dragon Festival. She understood his situation, despite his blood connection to the Kingdom, the malice that built up in his heart was only growing stronger by the day. [break][break] Regis donned a mask that was crafted in the semblance of the revered moon dragon in his true form. His silver eyes shone through the slits regardless. The rest of his body was garbed in lightweight clothing colored black with hints of silver throughout the outfit. [break][break] Quite some time had passed since the day he was pronounced dead. His assassination was a success, but the Kingdom played it off like some freak accident. The only ones who knew of his survival were Caprisun, Aerys, and the ones who ordered the attack. Regis to this day still hasn't found out who exactly ordered the attack. He just knew it was someone that belonged to his family. [break][break] The pouring rainforest had been a big part of Regis' childhood. He played within the rainforest and ran into and from a lot of the beasts that lived within the territory. A feeling of nostalgia ran through his body as he stood within the forest. He was waiting for the hunt to begin, naturally, he preferred to be alone—but for an event like this, it was only a matter of time before he ran into someone else.
It was natural, the feeling that were being brought up. Upon their travels, of the few things that Regis would open up about to Aerys was the water dragon festival. Considering that Regis spent a fair amount of time here in this forest, the mixed emotions from the nostalgia and anguish could been seen on his face, or by Aerys at least. The fire mage took a back seat by merely taking a background role watching and observing the surroundings. He was not really looking for wild beasts, more so other mages that may be hired by the kingdom mages as assassins.
The forest was a beautiful place really, and the sounds of the wild life even began to dull the senses of an on edge fire mage. The aspect of hunting was a new concept that Aerys had yet to take part in. You see being from a less fortunate background the young man never really had the chance to take part in festivities like this and usually was watching from the side line. Even when becoming a magic knight it was one task after another, never really getting a chance to enjoy the festivities.
Walking over towards his friend, Aerys put a hand on Regis shoulder, just to let remind him that during his times of turmoil he is not truly alone.
as nice and cute as whatever companionship the two men possessed was, all good things did come to an end.
from seemingly out of nowhere, a shape would drop from the tall, thick branches of the towering trees above. with a rather cringe-inducing sound, the shape hit the ground, followed by a low string of curses.
sitting on the ground with a slightly disgruntled look, the silvery haired, and barely clothed, woman idly rubbed at her head, a sharp 'pop' being heard as she cracked her joints and neck. not yet noticing the two men just before her, she only groaned. "damn branches are slippery," despite her irate tone, a deep, guttural laugh came from her lips. seemed as though the fall, somehow, hadn't harmed her in the least. and why would it? her dragon parent had tossed her from cliffs twice that size!
"oh. hey." casual in greeting to an almost jarring degree, she finally addressed the duo before her as she slowly sauntered up to her feet. a grin showed on her lips, revealing sharp canines. "would've been a helluva easier fall if you guys stood a bit closer east, yeah?" her tone sounded slightly accusing, as if it were there fault. but, in reality, she as just teasing them.
still...would she have been sorry if she landed on one of them? pft. that sounded like a win situation to her.
Birds scatter through the forest as the sound of trumpets echo in the wind. A single flag raises to declare that the hunt can begin. You’ve found your party, and your first decision will be what direction to go. Looking around, you notice three paths. [break][break] The first path is lined with lang berry trees. You can tell that there is a rich source of ethernano going in this direction. [break][break] The second path is lined with thorns and brambles. A jelly rabbit stares at you from among the shrubbery. It’s soft pink nose twitches as it jiggles and quivers. [break][break] The third path is the one right in front of you. The trees growing down this direction are massive, reaching far above your line of sight. There doesn't seem to be a lot of light in this direction. [attr="class,"memoryDarkbody"] The friendly touch from Aerys helped shake him from the spell that the forest had on him. "Put your mask back on. You're wanted around here..." [break][break] His nose picked up a distinct smell—it was his lineage that granted him keener senses, and allowed him to notice the slight change in the air. Immediately after there was a thud and he averted his eyes to the source of the sound. There on the floor sat a busty woman, who had seemingly come out of nowhere. [break][break] "I'd prefer to keep my back in proper shape." [break][break] A random woman with a smell that was familiar, though he never met her before this point. It was definitely odd. He had questions, but Regis also had an event he needed to finish. Regis figured that the girl would eventually display her abilities during the hunt. "You're welcome to come with us. We're heading down the path right in front of us."" [break][break] Regis offered the girl a hand, and whether she accepted it or not he moved forward towards the path with little to no light. There was a weird feeling that his senses were picking up on the deeper he walked into the path. The light began to dim, and his bright silver eyes became much more pronounced as a result. "There's something different about this forest..." He compared it to his days as a child, running amok like a wildling. The air around him was more chilling than before. Just what were they walking into?
He was right. He was a wanted man, and the likely hood of him running into someone who would try to capture him was very high. Pulling up the mask over his mouth and nose, just as Regis had instructed. The serene environment had been disturbed by the ungracious thud of a well endowed woman. To be fair despite her assets was fairly pleasurable to look at, but when she opened her mouth it all seemed to go down the drain.
The woman had the audacity to complain about where Regis and Aerys were situated as she fell from god knows where. Looking at the woman Aerys did not speak a word, but held a piercing gaze as he watch suspiciously as Regis help her back into her feet. It wouldnt take long for this little meeting to conclude especially as Regis was here to hunt. Whilst it may not be in the same scope, the hunted has now become the hunter.
Following on shortly behind Regis, Aerys was a tad apprehensive about going into the path without any light, but considering it was the path directly in front it would be easier to find their way back here if they moved in a straight line. Pausing for a second, Aerys turned to look back at whence they came, and marking a tree. Survival basics that was taught during the time as a magic knight should most definately come into practise now. Hopefully.
golden irises stared down both men, taking in their masks with a quirked brow. honestly - she didn't care much. sure, sure, there was mention of dark guilds at the festival but...unless they were offering a pretty penny for her putting up the effort of bringing one in, she wouldn't mind turning a blind eye. staring at the hand offered to her, she bore her teeth in a wide grin, taking it with a firm grasp - an exceedingly tight one at that - and pulling herself up. "what, got something to say?" combative, yet catty, words escaped her lips and were followed by a taunting wink as she locked eyes with the masked, red-haired individual.
regardless though - if they were here to hunt...well then, tagging along didn't seem bad at all. might've even been a bit fun, even if they both did seem like a bunch of stick in the muds. her hands crossed behind her head as she followed them, walking about behind them both in a rather uncaring fashion. as the path grew darker and darker, the urge to use her own magic to 'brighten' the place up surged...until she realized the risk she held in accidentally electrocuting both of them. 'lame,' the dragon slayer thought with a slight sigh under her breath, but, didn't risk it. "i'm having trouble picking up on smells - hey, you think they'll let us eat what we get? if there are some powerful beasts in here...heh..." she trailed off with a toothy smirk and a rather victorious look as she quickly derailed her important notation into...that. of course, only she could find something appealing about eating enigmatic creatures that could nearly kill her.
The path you’re carving leads to an upward incline where the trees grow thicker and the vegetation thinner. A stiff silence hangs in the air; artificial and somewhat stifling. There is a slight flash of light that catches your eye, but before you know it, it’s gone. Could it have been a beast? Before you can decide to chase it though, your party reaches a small cabin.
[break][break]
The cabin seems almost human. It’s skin is planks of splintered wood, breathing with rot and spiders. It’s eyes are windows caked with dust, and it’s mouth is an open door, inviting you in with a dimly lit candle.
[break][break] Do you take the invitation? Your choice from here will affect the event and your story! If you have any questions, please message baby on discord. You do not know when the next interference will take place.
[attr="class,"memoryDarkbody"] Regis' attention was focused on the steady darkness in front of him. He trusted his movement and kept walking forward. His eyes picked up on the flash of light that quicky disappeared into the forest. It was almost like the glare of a beast. Whatever it was, it was agile. [break][break] Elysia spoke about not being able to pick up on smells. Regis' ears perked up to that comment. It seemed her senses were on the same level as his own. Coupled with the air of familiarity earlier, he could only ponder on what that all meant. [break][break] "If you deal the killing blow, you can eat the whole thing." [break][break] She was a wild one, much wilder than him. Though Regis himself had become a lot more of a loose cannon ever since what had transpired at the Kingdom. He was no longer completely guided by morals or virtues, instead, his desires are what drove him forward. [break][break] The party came to a halt once they ran into a disgustingly old cabin. This wasn't something Regis was going to pass up. "Well guys, why not see what's inside?" He chuckled as he walked towards the cabin slowly. As each step carried him closer to the mouth of the house, the magic in his being began to channel and swell up inside him. He would step inside the house and take a look around.
following regis up the small incline, aerys noticed that many of the ambiance enviroment had completely changed. No more crickets churping, no rustling of the leaves as animal jumped from branch to branch. Nothing. It felt weird and even though he didnt have the senses on par with Regis, his intuition helped him live to this day.
" .... " Watching intently as regis approached the misplaced lodge, something felt off about it to aerys especially as it appeared out of nowhere, no gravel pathing, not even a worn down trail from the where the owner would traverse to and from their cabin. Judging by the woman's statements she seemed to be a act first thing later sort of person, and mixed with what seemed a wild temperment, it wouldnt be wise for aerys to let both regis and her go inside.
Sticking his hand out in front of the woman abruptly, it wouldn't surprise him if he overly large assets pressed into him. Looking at her, a cold stare, whilst shaking his head slowly as regis made his way up. It was better two outside than two inside. Aerys could only hope she could see it that way instead of him being the hamper on her fun.
that dangerous smirk that curled on elysia's lips only grew at the silver-eyed man's statement, her hands flexing, as though imaging she were already slaying some fantastical beast. it wouldn't be the first time she brought a large haul back to the guild hall - and it certainly wouldn't be her last. she did make a mental note to catch the name of ol' 'silver eyes' later, it seemed like he was fun to keep around.
the flash of glowing eyes to the whisk of something fleeing - heightened instincts within the slayer urged her to give chase. their was an immense urge to stretch her muscles, but, it was halted when they abruptly stumbled upon the eerie house. well, to elysia, it wasn't really scary. if it proved to be a threat...eh, buildings were far easier to break than bones most of the time. if anything though, it looked like it'd be a...hellishly fun place to explore! her eyes gleamed with a lust for adventure - something only a mage of cats cradle could possess.
one went in, and she was quick to follow with a wide smirk and beginning to crack her knuckles. "you're brave. i like that in my men."
...unfortunately, she was abruptly stopped by a arm pressing into her well-endowed chest, making her quirk an eyebrow. "wha-?" she scowled slightly, eyes narrowing at the 'red-hairs' explanation - or rather, lack of one. "and you're a buzz kill." despite her irritated tone and slight glower, she, thankfully, didn't try to bulldoze her way through. instead, she let her back hit against the rotting wood with a grunt as she leaned against the outside of the house, eyes closed. it might've seemed like she was pouting or something - in reality, she was just honing in her listening skills to see what she could hear.
Only one member of your party enters the cabin. Could it be that the other two have caught a case of cold feet? Regardless, it seems as though your caution was not for naught. After @rolo enters, the cabin door slams shut. If you are attempting to open it from either side, you will notice that despite your best efforts the door’s stuck. [break][break] As the remaining two mages stand outside the cabin-- perhaps banging on the rot, you begin to notice that the scenery is bending around you. There is an oppressive magic that disperses, and the floor beneath you turns to mush. The rotten wood becomes an oozing flesh, and the door which once seemed paper thin has risen eight feet into the air. Slowly it takes form into an amphibian maw. Two large eyes stare down beneath you, until finally you recognize the cabin has become a frog. [break][break] A hearty ribbit sends vibrations through the forest. You’ve encountered an illusion frog. A large and dexterous creature not native to Valeria. They are most well known for luring prey into their stomach by use of magic, and it seems that one of your companions has been caught! [break][break] Can you save your friend? Or will he save himself? Your choice from here will affect the request and future stories. If you have any questions, please message baby on discord. Shooting the woman a sharp look, at when she called him a buzz kill. She did not know their circumstances and probably wouldnt understand even if she did know. Whilst yes he was suspicious of the house, it was also a way of preventing her to be alone with regis, for all aerys knew she could be another assassin out to get him.
It didnt take long for Aerys suspicion to come to fruition. With Regis now inside the 'house' it was too late for aerys to do anything but momentarily watch as the displaced house morphed into that of a large frog. "the fuck.." aerys muttered this beneath his mask low enough for the heavily endowed woman to not be able to hear. Be it as it may, the large frogs croak caused the immediate vicinity to vibrate causing the young man to take a knee until it had stopped.
Not focusing on the other woman, Aerys had a task to free regis out of the beast, and by whatever means he would do it, even it meant replacing him with the woman. Either way with no time to spare, Aerys charged etheranos in his left hand generating a small sphere of fire magic. Looking on at the towering frog Aerys threw magic sphere at the beast with no remorse.
golden irises widened as wood turned to flesh and, before their very eyes, what was once a cabin was some odd, massive creature. silver-eyes was taken inside, eaten. dead, maybe?
'yeah - probably dead, look at the size of that thing...i wonder...' what most would've looked at in fright of the huge gruesome beast, there was a subtle glow within the woman's eyes. the look of a mad woman.
'how it tastes.'
immediately, she sprung to action. if buddy boy really was stuck inside the frog, there was one way she could imagine to get him out. she couldn't just go willy nilly batshit crazy and fry the thing, least she risk also injuring the 'precious cargo'. and so, her eyes turned onto the creature's overbearingly large mouth. "lightning dragon's," she began, electricity beginning to gather around her fist and casting it in a golden glow, "thunderclap!" she struck, aiming for her electrified knuckle to clash into the creatures gullet.
[break][break] Regis knew he made a mistake the moment he stepped inside the cabin and the door slammed shut behind him. The floor on the inside was much softer than actual wood, and the humidity he felt around him was very different from that of an old house. He felt whatever he inside rose from its previous position and it caused him to stumble a bit. [break][break] With the illusion dispersed, Regis still couldn't properly see as he was trapped within the maw of a large creature. The prince wasted no time in gathering his own ether into the center of his body. This was a move that he was almost certain would work in some way. [break][break]
Once the ether had finally gathered, he let it explode outward in a chaotic fashion. Bright golden magical energies with a slight blue tint erupted from his being. With the surroundings temporarily lit up, he understood his current situation. He hoped this spell would cause the creature to at least open its mouth for a second. [break][break]
