Moon´glade` n. 1. The bright reflection of the moon's light on an expanse of water.
“MOONGLADE” is a non-canon Fairy Tail rp. Our story begins in the northern continent of Giltena, more than 400 years after the “disappearance of dragons”. With a focus on the Kingdom of Valeria, a country with a deep history revolving around the Moon Dragon, you will be able to play a vital role in the development of this kingdom--unless you choose a different journey. In Giltena, revered dragons have chosen to walk among you, and villains posing as heroes litter both the royal courts and the city streets. Weary traveller, what will you bring to the kingdom? Forge your path, and push forward through a world of magic and dreams.
WATER DRAGON FEST
The portside Town of Elmina is holding their annual Water Dragon Festival in honor of the Water Dragon Waka. Water Dragon Waka is a known foodie, so there will be a cooking competition held by the city lord as well as a variety of street vendors set up to celebrate the festivities. Additionally, the royal family of Valeria will be holding a hunt in the nearby Pouring Rainforest in honor of this event. This forest is controlled terrain so they will be releasing captive beasts into it. Choose. Do you want to help or hinder with these activities? The choices are yours.

Here on Moonglade we have added spell classes to aide in establishing clear limits that scale with their respective class. The classes below will serve as parameters for the spells that will be created by our members. We will also detail the ether cost per spell as well as the cost of upkeep (A spell that remains active) if applicable. The classes we have are as follows: D-class, C-class, B-class, A-class, and S-class.
[break][break]
[break][break]
D-class
All characters on site begin at D-class. It is the starting point of every mage and marks the beginning of their magical adventure. At this level one is a novice at all things and their techniques are unrefined and barely pack a punch. Spells of this class can only reach up to 30ft, while AOE (area of effect) type attacks can reach 15ft. The ether cost per D-class spell is 10, while the upkeep is 5. [break][break] • Offensive: Spells of this class are very weak and simple. They are only capable of light bruising, shallow cuts, and light burns. [break] • Defensive: Spells of this class are only capable of blocking/reflecting 1 D-class spell, or 50% of a C-class spell. [break] • Buffing: Spells of this class are only capable of enhancing one trait and can only be used on one additional person other than the caster.[break]
Passively: Can run 25mph, jump 10ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 300lbs/125lbs, and can fly 30mph.
Actively: Can run 35mph, jump 20ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 350lbs/175lbs, and can fly 40mph.
• Debuffing: Spells of this class are only capable of weakening one trait and can only be used on one person at a time. At this class, you can only inflict light headaches, a slight fever, dry throat and things of that nature. [break] • Healing: Spells of this class can only heal damage equal to a D-class spell. It takes one post for the cast to complete, and if interrupted before the spell is complete then the healing will not happen. D-class healing spells can only heal one person at a time. [break][break]
C-class
Mastery of the basics has been achieved. Mages at this level are significantly more powerful than their D-class counterparts. This in itself is an accomplishment worthy of taking pride in. With an arsenal of spells that can finally do damage, it is time to start putting some respect on their names. Spells of this class can reach up to 50ft, while AOE type attacks can reach up to 25ft. The ether cost per C-class spell is 20, while the upkeep is 10. [break][break] • Offensive: Spells of this class are now capable of moderate cuts, average bruises, and first degree burns. Though none of these can be fatal if placed in the correct spot an attack sure can be lethal. [break] • Defensive: Spells of this class can block/reflect 2 D-class spells, 1 C-class spell, or 50% of a B-class spell before breaking. [break] • Buffing: Spells of this class can enhance two traits at once, and can only be used one other person aside from the caster. [break]
Passively: Can run 40mph, jump 20ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 700lbs/350lbs, and can fly 45mph.
Actively: Can run 50mph, jump 30ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 750lbs/375lbs, and can fly 55mph.
• Debuffing: Spells of this class can weaken two traits at once, and can only be used on one person at a time. Ailments at this level include all of the ones listed before along with nausea and blurry vision. [break] • Healing: Spells of this class now scale to be able to alleviate C-class damage and can heal two people per spell instead of one. [break][break]
B-class
Congratulations on the next notable power spike! At this level, spells are more powerful than ever before. Though the gap between C-Class and B-Class is much smaller than D-class and C-class, the Spells have now evolved to be much more complex and multifaceted. Spells of this class can reach up to 80ft, while AOE type attacks can reach up to 40ft. The ether cost per B-class Spell is 30, while the upkeep is 15. [break][break] • Offensive: Spells of this class are now capable of deep cuts, deep bruises, and second-degree burns. With the correct placement, one can fracture bones and injure organs. [break] • Defensive: Spells of this class can block/reflect 4 D-Class Spells, 2 C-Class Spells, 1 B-Class spell or 50% of an A-Class spell before breaking.[break] • Buffing: Spells of this class are only capable of buffing two traits (per spell), and can only be used on two additional individuals other than the caster. [break]
Passively: Can run 55mph, jump 30ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 1400lbs/700lbs, and can fly 60mph.
Actively: Can run 65mph, jump 40ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 1500lbs/750lbs, and can fly 70mph.
• Debuffing: Spells of this class are only capable of debuffing two traits (per spell), and can only be used on two individuals. Ailments of this class can now induce migraines and reduce hearing for those it targets as well as cause minor paralysis. [break] • Healing: Spells of this class now scale to alleviate B-Class damage and can heal three people per spell. [break][break]
A-class
This is the end of the road for most that reach this far. Their understanding of magic is much greater than before, having truly found themselves and explored their magical powers to realize their terrifying capabilities. These spells have much more firepower before and are capable of truly mysterious things that will catch those unsuspecting off guard. Spells of this class can reach up to 110ft, while AOE type attacks can reach up to 55ft. The ether cost per A-Class Spell is 40, while the upkeep is 20. [break][break] • Offensive: Spells of this class are capable of severe cuts, bone-breaking hits, muscle deep bruises, and third-degree burns. These can prove to be fatal if hit on a vital spot. [break] • Defensive: Spells of this class are capable of blocking/reflecting 1 S-class, 2 A-class, 4 B-class, or 6 C-class spells before breaking. [break] • Buffing: Spells of this class are only capable of buffing three traits (per spell), and can only be used on three additional individuals other than the caster. [break]
Passively: Can run 65mph, jump 40ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 2000lbs/1000lbs, and can fly 70mph.
Actively: Can run 75mph, jump 50ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 3000lbs/1500lbs, and can fly 80mph.
• Debuffing: Spells of this class are only capable of debuffing three traits (per spell), and can only be used on three individuals. Ailments at this level include making the target throw up and lose their vision temporarily. [break] • Healing: Spells of this class now scale to alleviate B-Class damage and can heal three people per spell. [break][break]
S-class
By far the biggest jump from one class to another. S-class is on an entirely different level than A-class. The power they possess and the damage they can deal is on a catastrophic level. This is mastery of magic, and it is a place where only the truly special can reach. Spells of this class can reach up to 140ft, while AOE type attacks can reach up to 70ft. The ether cost per S-Class Spell is 50, while the upkeep is 25. [break][break] • Offensive: Spells of this class are capable of completely obliterating those that do not possess the power to stop them. It would be a good idea to steer clear of any spell of this caliber if you cannot do anything about them. They can do everything A-class offensive spells can and more. [break] • Defensive: Spells of this class are capable of blocking/reflecting 2 S-class, 4 A-class, and 6 B-class spells before breaking. [break] • Buffing: Spells of this class are capable of buffing up to four traits (per spell), and can only be used on three additional individuals other than the caster.[break]
Passively: Can run 80mph, jump 50ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 5000lbs/2500lbs, and can fly 85mph.
Actively: Can run 90mph, jump 60ft, capable of lifting/throwing objects that are 6000lbs/3000lbs, and can fly 95mph.
• Debuffing: Debuffs of this class are only capable of debuffing four traits (per spell), and can only be used on three individuals. Ailments at this level can now prove to be lethal, causing blindness and full body paralysis as well as everything listed beforehand. [break] • Healing: Spells of this class now scale to alleviate S-class damage and can heal five people per spell. [break][break]
Before creating your own spells, you will need to understand the various type of spells that are allowed on this site. To prevent spells that can seemingly do everything, we have broken things down into several types. Less experienced mages can only use single-type spells, but as you gain experience you will be able to use more complex combinations of types. The information for that is found below in the Spell Class.
[break][break]
Offensive Spells: Spells that are used with the intent of dealing damage, whether to hurt someone or something. [break][break] Defensive Spells: Spells that are used to defend against other attacks, whether they be physical or magical. This can be anything from a barrier, to a wall to a random shape that befits the caster. [break][break] Buffing Spells: Spells that are used to either enhance the user or a target chosen by the user themselves. This can be anything from increasing strength to increasing speed, to even making someone weight more than they normally do. A buffing spell cannot be stacked with a passive spell. Following the initial activation of a buff, one must pay an upkeep cost per post after in order to keep the buff. Keep in mind, with each extra trait you buff you add a +10 Ether upkeep per post. [break][break] Example: User buffs two traits instead of one with a b-class spell, next post the upkeep would be 15 + 10 = 25.
[break][break] Debuffing Spells: Spells that are used to weaken the enemy with magic. This can be anything from inflicting stamina drain to messing with someone’s vision, even incurring temporary sickness. The duration for all debuffing spells regardless of class and upkeep is three posts followed by a two post cooldown. This is to ensure no one is stuck in a loop. The same rule for traits and upkeep for buffing spells pertains to debuffing spells as well. [break][break] Healing Spells: Spells that are used to heal the user or anyone they come in contact with. The amount of damage that can be healed is equal to the damage its rank can deliver. Healing spells cannot revive anyone past the point of no return. Only those who choose healing magic as primary or secondary magic can utilize healing spells. There are a few exceptions which will be looked at as a case by case decision. [break][break] Passive Spells: Spells that are constantly active that enhance the user in specific ways. Similar to buffs, but they are not as strong. Only upkeep is necessary for passive spells. No activation cost is required. However, because of this, their effects are always one less than their actual class. For example, a B-Class passive ability will scale to the C-Class limitations as described below in Spell Classes.
There are many different types of magic, but typically most will fit in either the caster or holder classifications. On this site, all magic used must be sourced from the original fairy tail franchise. If you are having some issues with this, please reference the fairy tail fandom wiki. If a magic does not exist on this wiki is cannot be used. The staff has a right to deny any magic from this source for reasons of balance or story. Refer to the list below for restricted and banned magic.

Meaning, we expect proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation; although, please try your best to make the post as substantial as possible for your fellow role-player that you are role-playing with. What we mean by this is that it is important you try your best to keep on par with your fellow poster! Even though we have no set word count, even a minimum of 150 to 200 words would be nice to give your fellow role-player! We do understand that English is not the first language to most and we will take that into consideration. [break][break] • Moonglade follows in accordance with Proboards TOS. Giltena is the northernmost continent of earthland. Unlike the eastern peninsula of Ishgar, Giltena is a monolithic continent where dragons once existed freely and few even chose to live among the human. Because of their long-standing history in the continent, most countries of Giltena view dragons quite positively and worship them for their insurmountable strength. [break][break]
One such country is the Kingdom of Valeria, said to be founded by the Moon Dragon many millennia ago. A rich country that prospers in trade, it’s monarchy is said to be the descendants of the Moon Dragon and have ruled for ages without question.[break][break]
The main religious force of Giltenia is the Church of Rebecca, that has been established in the continent for nearly all of its history. Guilds are common practice, and one of the world’s oldest guilds, Magia Dragon is established in one of Valeria’s cities.
