WATER DRAGON FEST
The portside Town of Elmina is holding their annual Water Dragon Festival in honor of the Water Dragon Waka. Water Dragon Waka is a known foodie, so there will be a cooking competition held by the city lord as well as a variety of street vendors set up to celebrate the festivities. Additionally, the royal family of Valeria will be holding a hunt in the nearby Pouring Rainforest in honor of this event. This forest is controlled terrain so they will be releasing captive beasts into it. Choose. Do you want to help or hinder with these activities? The choices are yours.

[attr="class","starrytext"] he stole a broadsword from a participant who planned on entering the hunter's event. with a white-hooded cloak draped over his body. he whistled a tune as the broadsword remained within its sheath. waiting for the event to start.
a butterfly fluttered past his eyes. catching his attention for a brief moment, "a butterfly," raising his left index finger. he'd allow it to rest upon it. allowing its wings to rest for a brief moment. scanning the scenery before him, there were many who were here to participate with a comrade, friend, or guild mate. enlil was here on his own just for fun.
he had no intention of participating in this festival. but he'd finished a recent job request and was in the neighborhood, and when he heard of this event? how could he turn it down. there was no way he could pass this opportunity up. "i wonder what the prize is? i wonder if the beast is strong..." he was once a member of the jaeger squad. so hunting is nothing to enlil. this, if anything, were mere child's play.
but he'd need cannon fodder just in case things went south. and, unbeknownst to him, there stood someone before him. this person looked to have been on his own. so, without hesitation, he'd waltz on over toward the back of the fellowman. with a smile on and a toothy grin given, he'd place the palm of his right hand upon the individual's shoulder, "hey, hey, hey, you lookin' pretty lonely. you know the beast they're planning to release won't be easy on your own, right?" enlil spoke.
"team up with me?" he suggested. his thumb pointing directly at himself. "the name's enlil, you can call me 'en' just this once." he stated, introducing himself.

[attr="class","ooc"]uther valeria mission: event. notes: waiting for the games to begin.
water dragon festival... uther did not realize it had come already.
he had watched multiple hunts take place before, though none of them were available for him to join. he knows very well the dangers and risks of being in the competition, but along with it came the excitement and adrenaline. uther was here just for that.
the thrill and the experience were the only things that got him to participate despite him trying not to get the attention of the kingdom.
his head turns to see the person behind his shoulder. eyes and general demeanor aside, the smile almost made him feel the sincerity of his words. the friendliness was appreciated, especially during the trying times.
"i'm cain," he introduces, not wanting to reveal his real name.
there had been others who went in solo on previous iterations of the event, he had observed, but he wouldn't deny the advantage that numbers brought.
"and yeah, teaming up would be nice." he'd bow his head slightly before him. "please take care of me."
Birds scatter through the forest as the sound of trumpets echo in the wind. A single flag raises to declare that the hunt can begin. You’ve found your partner, and your first decision will be what direction to go. Looking around, you notice three paths. [break][break] The first path is lined with lang berry trees. You can tell that there is a rich source of ethernano going in this direction. [break][break] The second path is lined with thorns and brambles. A jelly rabbit stares at you from among the shrubbery. It’s soft pink nose twitches as it jiggles and quivers. [break][break] The third path is a beat up road. There seems to be signs of recent forestry down this direction. Several trees have been chopped down, and there is the faint imprint of footprints lining an unkempt passage. [break][break] Your choice from here will affect the event and your story! [attr="class","starrytext"] "nice, nice." he'd pat cain's back, hard and heavily. a toothy grin expressing amusement in his new comrade's hand. "don't worry, don't worry, you follow my lead and we'll get you to the next event before sundown." enlil chuckled.
attention taken by the sound of starting. enlil would place the hood of his cloak atop of his head. "alright cain, make sure you keep close!" and he took off. running with a sprint, enlil was ahead of the party. but he'd come to a halt once he came across three paths. some went left, others right, and the few forward. but he wasn't sure which to take.
"whichever looks the less dangerous would be the most logical to take, but the most dangerous looking path is probably the real choice. we're going the third route!" he exclaimed with glee. snickering as he took the path with footprints, he wondered what resided up ahead. the culling thoughts of what he was going to fight made him excited, but there was another agenda for why he was doing this. "you have to be here..." he muttered.
[attr="class","ooc"][attr="class","fa fa-cloud"]
[attr="class","ooc"]uther valeria mission: event. notes: he chose the third path that looked dangerous.
he would have chosen the path with etharno. part of him grew curious with the source when he had detected it. enlil does make a valid point, however, and uther was not going to rebuke it. this was a hunt that required them to go after the strongest beast after all, not some sort of treasure hunt.
"ooh, kinda like how more difficult missions give better rewards! i gotcha!"
he takes one last look at the other paths. they were indeed more inconspicuous when compared to the one seemingly ravaged by something extraordinary. taking enlil's word into perspective, it does seem like a place where the losers would find themselves at.
uther had been sheltered for most of his life. going for the safe route would be the logical choice for a first attempt in a hunt such as this, but if he was here for the experience, he wouldn't just take a ranking one would expect for a greenhorn.
they're here to take the first place in the competition.
"let's go then!" he'd chime in cheerfully, taking the lead absently as he walked up the path.
Uther absentmindedly leads you down the third path. As you walk, you notice a tree with large scratch marks grated against pale bark. Signs of a large magical beast. The footsteps get clearer. These are clearly human tracks. You hear the sound of chattering from the distance. Further down the beaten path you see a group of four men. Their faces are each covered with a makeshift bandana, and their leader seems to be middle aged. You can tell even from the distance that his hairline is thinning. [break][break] “Hurry up! We gotta round up more of these beasties while it’s daylight! Feh, these stupid royals always hold the same dumb competition. Wasting perfectly good merchandise such as these!” [break][break] You watch as the man jovially saunters up towards a wooden cage and stares up in admiration of his handiwork. Carved into the freshly cut wood is a set of defense bolstering runes. A loud roar rips through the air from the beast in the cage. Standing at a handsome seven feet is a mohawk bear. It’s eyes glow red as it recklessly swings at the poacher, only to have it’s attack bounce back at it. [break][break] What will you do?! Your choice from here can affect the event and your story! [attr="class","starrytext"] "oh! a beast?!" enlil exclaimed. watching as the four men up ahead stood in front of its cage. enlil wasn't sure as to what's going on. whether he needed to know or not didn't matter, what he needed was to slay that bear. "oi, you open the cage." he ordered without looking at cain (uther valeria). "i'm going to take care of these four."
with the broadsword in its sheath. he'd remove the sharp blade from its casing. with the blade in his right hand, he'd place the sheath in his left. "don't worry, i won't do too much damage." enlil spoke, at first, as his speed began to pick up the pace. rushing in, he'd deliver a blow to the back of one of the four men's head. hitting them with the butt of the sword, making sure not to cut them.
"next!" he'd knee one man in the stomach only to, then, headbutt him right after. next was the third, he'd throw the sheath at the third poacher's face. the sheath would bounce off of the same man's face who would, right after, be met with a right hook across his face. and as for the fourth male, he'd deliver a flying kick to the man's chest. attempting to send him flying.
placing his stolen broadsword back into its sheath. enlil would turn to see cain's progress. though, before checking cain's progress, enlil would make sure the four men were down for the count.
[attr="class","ooc"][attr="class","fa fa-cloud"]
[attr="class","ooc"]uther valeria mission: event. notes: enlil took care of the four men, attempting to render them unconscious. ordered cain to open up the cage, or at least find a way to open it up, so they could kill the bear..
he takes out his rifle with his spatial magic, a corner of his eye watching the friendly mage beat down the four other guys. he opened his mouth to ask him if he needed help, but a second of watching was enough to tell uther that his assistance wasn't required by enlil.
the cage, on the other hand, was his job for now.
within it was a mohawk bear-- ferocious animals that struck fear in a normal person's heart. mages were a different matter altogether though. with the prowess that enlil was showing, he supposed that opening the cage would be enough.
he takes aim and proceeds to shoot at the cage, though runes seemed to protect it from damage from the bullets. he reassesses the situation wordlessly, and takes potshots at the bear stuck inside the cage. it was only when he already fired off a few that he starts to question their situation.
"wait, are we not going for a larger prey?" he asks the other.
Enlil effortlessly takes care of the poachers, sending the four down to the ground with ass up and face down. The sight of it is rather provocative in nature, but thankfully none of these for men are to either of your taste. However, they do fit the taste of another beast that’s been released into this forest. Traumatized by how easily they were defeated, one of the four men was doused with sweat and peed his pants.
[break][break]
Before the mohawk bear could fight back at Uther’s potshot, he was suddenly scared into submission. The source? An approaching female orc. Letting out a weak cry, the mohawk bear turned its back to the two mages and scuttled to the corner.
[break][break]
Dragging a tree trunk behind it, the female orc approaches your team. She’s shorter than the mohawk bear, but her tusks are long and sharp like chiseled down ivory. Her breathe is heavy as she catches a whiff of the stink of man. Her eyes are glossy, and her cheeks are a dangerous shade of pink. A female orc in the heat might be more bit off than you could chew.

[attr="class","starrytext"] "screw that bear." a slithering grin. enlil tossed the scabbard of his broadsword to the side. "i want to fight that one." he sheepishly grinned. "this one sure is fugly, the mohawk bear looks more worth marrying than this big bitch." cusping his free hand near his mouth, enlil continued to shout taunts toward the beast. "someone--no--something as ugly as you would even cause your own reflection to start clowning you, mount bitch!" chuckling at his own words, he'd pat his thigh upon busting a gut.
"right, right, cain?!" he looked over to his ally. "oh, and mount bitch..." pointing his broadsword her way. the silver haired jokester flicked his tongue briefly. showcasing a desire to devour his prey, "...i'm taking your head here and now, 'kay?" and without further ado, he'd begin to inhale a deeply. "sky dragon's..." he uttered, "roar!"
releasing a torrent of wind from his maw. enlil unleashd a furious funnel of wind toward the ogre's direction. aiming for it's hideous face in an attempt to push back and deliver piercing damage.
[attr="class","ooc"][attr="class","fa fa-cloud"]
[attr="class","ooc"]uther valeria mission: event. mana: 90/100 notes: enlil makes fun of the orc, threatens, and attacks with sky dragon's roar.
this wouldn't be the first experience he had with that kind of exotic magic. nonetheless, it still was enough to put him in awe. watching it applied to a scenario up close was different from just observing it from afar.
it was powerful, but that doesn't mean he gets to just watch.
"i'll do my best!"
while enlil takes on the large beast head on, uther lines up his rifle to his sights and aims. he backs up a few steps away from the target, not wanting to get in the way of both enlil's attacks and the opponent's, and readies his trigger finger.
aiming was the only thing he got going for him. compared to dragon slaying magic, requip just doesn't have that much power behind it unless he gets his hands on better equipment. that wasn't to say that the ones he has right now where nowhere near satisfactory though.
Hearing your incessant chatter, the orc’s attention is drawn away from the poachers and towards enlil vindr. Her eyes run over him not once, but twice. Thick lips pucker and lick as she decides that he is the superior male specimen. His threats and insults do nothing to her as orcs are a low intelligence beast and cannot understand human language. As he flicks his tongue, the female orc assumes the mage is seducing her and begins charging towards him. [break][break] Enlil’s torrent of wind heads straight towards her, but because of the velocity she’s moving at she hardly catches a breeze. There’s the faint imprint of a cut on her right cheek, but it’s not deep enough for her to notice in her heat. When she is within distance, she grabs onto enlil vindr with one hand as if she is claiming her man meat. Throwing her head back, she lets out a loud primal roar which gives uther valeria a chance to shoot towards her. [break][break] Eyes, jaw, neck, groin, and knees. These are the most exploitable weak spots on an orc’s body. Because of Uther’s sharp shooting, you manage to land a direct hit in the orc’s right eye. She howls as blood spurts out of it and she’s blinded from one side. However, she keeps a tight hold on her prize. [break][break] Protect enlil vindr’s chastity. [attr="class","starrytext"] well that wasn't in the plan. "ah, i got caught." a simple shrug of defeat. he'd casually await his demise, but it wasn't until uther valeria 's sharpshooting saved the day. "oh! you really are usef--a great teammate!" holding his nose, enlil wasn't too much a fan of the orc's breath. but what cain had done gave the wind user an idea.
"o cryin' angel sitting on the heavenly winds..." a breeze began to pick up. air had started to arise. a surge of wind began to swirl above their heads. "...i ask that you grant me a blade to slay this foe," and then, "teardrops of the sky dragon!" solidifying compressed wind. enlil creates blades, approximately ten knives, made of wind. shaping them in the form of throwing knives traveling at d-rank max range. capable of dealing d-rank cutting damage, the knives begin to move at an active d-rank flight speed.
maneuvering his free hand, being the right as the other was caught in the orc's arms. enlil began to lazily move his right hand in different directions. he would launch TWO (2) wind knives into the orc's other air. attempting to dig not only deeply into it, but he would try to enforce the two knives made of wind to go straight through her head.
"mind doin' me a favor and just dying?" sharpened eyes watched. attempting to pierce through the orc's head with all his magical might. and, should it prove to fail with just only two, enlil would send TWO MORE KNIVES into the same hole the first pair pierced. trying his best to shove the windy knives through its head.
[attr="class","ooc"][attr="class","fa fa-cloud"]
[attr="class","ooc"]uther valeria mission: event. mana: 80/100 notes: enlil gave up honestly, but then he saw "cain's" skills. and what he did inspired him to use his own magic, summoned ten knives made of compressed wind, and launched four into the orc's other eye. he's attempting to drill them through her head.
"thank you, thank you," he responds to enlil. "i do my best after all."
this was good, or at least, for uther.
the orc's attention was still on enlil instead of him, and with it, he uses the opportunity to reposition himself to the orc's blind side. noise was kept to a minimum this time, afraid to actually get the orc's recognition. then again, with what enlil has been doing, he found it hard to believe that the orc will take notice of him.
he watches the dragon slayer ravage the orc's face with his magic. he wanted to say that what he was doing was not only gross and heartless, but also unnecessary, but he couldn't be bothered. he was already aiming, after all.
he holds his gun close to him. his target was larger and easier to hit this time. he was confident on hitting it without making too much preparation this time.
a charged shot lands on the back of the orc's knees, aiming to destabilize its footing.
Gruesome would be the best way to describe this turn of events. [break][break] Letting out a blood curdling cry, the female orc swings her arms wildly as two knives stab into her eye. Her grip on enlil vindr loosens as the knives drive deeper into her skull, and in a last-ditch effort to stop the pain, she whips the dragon slayer aside in a swooping motion. With her now free arm, she covers her face and attempts to pull out what’s hurting her, but instead grasps empty air.
[break][break]
Still distracted, this gives uther valeria plenty of time to pop another shot. A big target, he lands his hit perfectly, blowing out one of the female orc’s knees. She hobbles before falling to the ground. Now blinded, the female orc has no choice but to thrash around as one last struggle in self-defense. Blood is pooling out the orc’s eyes, so the scent may attract other beasts if you don’t finish this quickly.
