WATER DRAGON FEST
The portside Town of Elmina is holding their annual Water Dragon Festival in honor of the Water Dragon Waka. Water Dragon Waka is a known foodie, so there will be a cooking competition held by the city lord as well as a variety of street vendors set up to celebrate the festivities. Additionally, the royal family of Valeria will be holding a hunt in the nearby Pouring Rainforest in honor of this event. This forest is controlled terrain so they will be releasing captive beasts into it. Choose. Do you want to help or hinder with these activities? The choices are yours.

It was nice to see that she was partnered up with a friendly person for this mission. She was sure that she would have been able to enjoy herself with just about anyone, but having someone who would be easy to talk to made for an extra little treat. She even had a nice name! Orla would mouth it a couple times as she glanced off toward the desert, both in memorization and because it was just kind of fun to say.[break][break]
She would take in a slight gasp as the compliment was directed toward her, eyes widening slightly as she looked to Kate. After the split second reaction her face would return to it's previous cheerful smile, her foot idly kicking at the sandy ground. "Thank you, ma'am." She never was good at receiving such words praise, but her uncle taught her a long time ago that it was better to just accept a compliment. Arguing would not only make them want to double down on their comment, but could even potentially offend people! Though his phrasing was a bit more...crude.[break][break]
Her head would bob up and down quickly as she reached back into her travel pack and pulled out an over sized sketchbook and pencil, her gaze intently her hands working quickly to flip through the many pages of sketches and notes before arriving on a blank space. Once there she would start to take notes, her hand working quickly to jot down the warning. "Snakes...Scorpions...Lions. Got it!" She hadn't ever heard of desert dwelling lions before, but Kate sounded like she knew what she was talking about, so she wasn't about to question her![break][break]
Shoulders would shrug in an effort to heft the pack on her back, her gaze still focused on her sketchbook as she continued to draw the beginnings of a map to help chart out their journey. It would be pretty rough, but maybe it would help them come back to the guild with some usable info. "I've read a lot about desert travel. I think I've got everything I need! There should be enough to share if you need, too." Despite her words the bag seemed to be rather light weight. But at least she seemed confident.

The desert was far from Orla's favorite place in the world. It was hot, dry and had very few interesting things to look at. Yet she would still maintain the skip in her step as she traveled along the road toward her destination, her mind focused on the positives of her adventure! Sure there wasn't a lot of special stuff, but the dunes were still kinda pretty. And she was going to get to work with someone outside of her guild for the first time, which was sure to be an exciting new experience. Dahlia gripped the straps of the backpack that contained her supplies as she squinted into the distance, a lone figure coming into view on the horizon. Oh no! They were there already!?[break][break]
Dahlia would hop off the ground and spread her arms out wide, her entire body starting to glow with a radiant golden light that could easily be spotted from a distance. Her speed would immediately increase dramatically, causing the hood of the plain cloth robe that shaded her skin from the sun to fall away from her head and blow in the wind behind her. Luckily her long blonde strands would remain tucked into the garb, though the wind would cause the ball of puff that still stuck out to frizz a bit in the wind that whipped around her.[break][break]
It wouldn't be long until Orla would find herself right by her partner, her arms still stretched out to her side as if to balance herself as she game to a sudden halt beside Kate and planted her feet on the ground. There was a pause as the shorter girl lurched forward, her face wincing as she felt her stomach churn from the sudden stop. In that brief pause one would swear that the girl was about to lose her lunch, but she seem to recover quickly enough to prevent such an unfortunate event. Instead she would turn a bright smile toward her purple haired partner, her lips curling into a bright smile as if nothing had happened.[break][break]
"Orla Osgood, reporting for duty! You're my partner, right? It's so nice to meet you!" Her bright blue eyes sparkled as she spoke, gaze fixated on the woman's face. "Gosh, you're so pretty..." Orla's hands would move to rub her own cheeks, as if she could somehow will her face to gain some similarity to the other's/ "I bet you're really strong too. But don't worry, I'll try my best to keep up."
Smile would fade to a look of quiet contemplation as she continued to wonder why they would have received such a directionless mission. There had to be some sort of reason, right? Maybe it was just something that was beyond her understanding. There was still so much she didn't know about the way things worked in this great wide world, so she most certainly wasn't in any sort of position to question what she was told. Cheerful expression would quickly return as the brighter side of their trip was brought back to her attention, her head bobbing from underneath the hood of her robe in agreement. "That's true! A lot of people were talking about how dangerous it is out here, but it seems fine to me."[break][break]
Though nothing would make her smile like watching Jury relax as her fanning seemed to offer some relief to the ice mage. She would let out a soft laugh as she continued to fan, seeming to gain some strength and speed upon receiving a positive reaction. Unfortunately it meant that she had to give up on keeping her map up to date, but that was probably gonna be ok. It was much more important for Jurianne to stay alert and comfortable than for her to fiddle around with her pet project.[break][break]
That bright smile would start to become somewhat strained as time went on, the burn in his arms and shoulders starting to take their toll on her. But she wouldn't allow herself to stop, forcing her thin arms to push forward despite the pain. Orla was in ok shape, but her training had been almost entirely focused around her magical abilities. Even if she hadn't been performing the repetitive motion for too long it was definitely starting to wear down on her. Yet as long as she stayed focused on the task at hand she knew she could keep this up all day![break][break]
Unfortunately she would quickly find herself getting distracted as Jurianne pointed out something in the distance, her arms falling limp as she turned toward the distant sparkle. Eyes would narrow into a squint as she stared into the endless expanse of sand, scanning the area for a moment before finally spotting the shine. "Oooh! Yes, I see it!" Something that sparkly must have been some sort of treasure uncovered by this surprisingly cool desert breeze, right? Apparently not, as Jury seemed to be convinced that it was nothing more than an illusion created by the desert heat.[break][break]
Orla's head would bob in enthusiastic agreement as she turned back to the brown haired woman, her arms slowly raising as she forced herself to resume her fanning. "Yeah, you're probably right. We should keep looking." Truthfully she would have loved nothing more than to investigate that distant sparkle of hope, but she would be plenty content to follow Jurianne's lead. After all, she was so much more experienced in this stuff.
It was time to enjoy the benefits of having an ice wielding mage for a friend! Orla was used to heat, considering she had lived up in the harsh mountains with the sun beating down on their tiny little shack nonstop during the warmer months. But this desert was SO MUCH WORSE! At least it was right up until good ol' Jury would come to her rescue with her chilly magic to make everything alright. As nice as it was, the starry eyed blonde couldn't help but feel bad for her friend. She seemed may have been dressed well for the weather, but it was difficult to ignore the beads of sweat forming on the woman's forehead. If only there was something she could do to help...[break][break]
"Yeah it would be nice if we had a specific objective to look for. But I'm sure that they knew what they were doing when they put in the request. Maybe they're having us look for some kind of mythical magic treasure but don't want to tell us so we don't get our hopes up?" Unlike the older mage, Orla seemed to be just as enthusiastic about their quest as she was at their outset. Which was to say very excited. The entire time the girl would keep her large sketchpad in hand, her hand working quickly to sketch out each and every dune in an attempt at making some sort of map as they walked. Unfortunately there wasn't much around here to sketch, but at hopefully this would prove useful?[break][break]
Orla would look up to Jurianne as the question was posed. The eraser of her pencil would move to tap against her pursed lips as she seemed to take a moment to consider the question. "Well... I'm ok to continue if you are. But you do seem pretty hot." Suddenly her eyes lit up with a bright sparkle, her lips curling into an excited smile as a brilliant idea finally occurred to her. "Here, this should help." Clutching her sizable sketchbook in both hands the smaller girl would start waving it up and down in a wide arc, each swipe sending a soft gust of wind in Jurianne's direction.[break][break]
Unlike the more experienced mage, Orla wasn't quite as prepared for a trip through the desert. Luckily she had been warned not to wear his usual thick dresses, which meant she had to spend some of her saved up jewels on more fitting clothes. The lightweight hooded robe wasn't nearly as cute as he normal clothes, but at least it helped keep the sun off her skin. Aside from that all she had was the small bag of herbs she assumed she was given for that cover story she was supposed to tell people should they get caught? The idea of lying to people like that didn't set well with the young mage, the idea causing her stomach to churn just thinking about it. Hopefully they would be lucky enough to avoid that sort of encounter...[break][break]
Scrawny arms would continue to fan without letup, even as her gaze would slowly drift to the similar yet beautiful dunes that surrounded them. "But if we are gonna take a break this would be a pretty nice spot. The view is really wonderful."
there's a reason she's alone, you can't pin her down. because no one needs her home, or needs her around. she says, "there's beauty in the hills, a chip in the sky. so don't be sad because i roam, it keeps me alive." to impress her, it's too damn hard, to stay loyal without going too far. if i see her again promise i won't cry. to impress her - it's too damn hard, to stay loyal without going too far. if i see her again promise i won't cry. [break][break]
she wasn't back tonight, and i don't know about you, my money's on the night, it takes her away like i do. my charm is twinkling out of her eyes, of her eyes. she will never grow old, or change her mind, she'll talk about it later on, from seeing the sights. there's something wonderful and odd about the escape, and while you want them to be gone, you want them to stay. and impressing her is just so damn hard, i want her back, and please don't go too far. if i see her again promise i won't cry. to impress her - it's too damn hard, to stay loyal without going too far. if i see her again promise i won't cry. [break][break]
she doesn't come back much, no one misses her like i do. i hope she's having fun, doing what she wants to. and send a postcard or two from the sights sometime. to impress her - it's just too damn hard, and i want her back but she's gone too far. if i see her again promise i won't cry.

NAME: Supernova Jr. [break] SPELL TYPE: Offensive [break] CLASS: D-class [break] DESCRIPTION: The user extends their hand, causing a bright golden glow to radiate from their palm. From that glow floats a small glowing mote of the same color. The mote travels at d-rank speed at it's fastest, but can also move more slowly if needed, up to 30 feet. NAME: Here [break] CLASS: A-class/B-class/C-class/D-class [break] DESCRIPTION: [break][break]
Orla doesn't know much about her parents or early childhood, her earliest memories being with a man she knew as Uncle Flanzia in his seclusive mountain cottage. There the two of them lived alone, removed from the world at large. Her uncle said this was important, as it was vital for her to focus on mastering her magic. Outside of their training her uncle was always distant, the stuffy older man struggling to connect with such a young bubbly child. Yet he would do his best to raise the child, even if he felt he had no clue what he was doing.[break][break]
Things continued this way until, Orla woke up one day with her uncle nowhere to be seen. Normally he would let her know when he was going to go on these trips, but the ever optimistic child wouldn't panic. Surely he just didn't want to wake her, right? A full week would go by with no sign of Flanzia, at which point even she would start to worry. It seemed Orla had no choice but to pack up what few supplies she had left (as well as their emergency stash of jewels just in case) and set off to find her uncle. [break][break]
While she had little trouble avoiding and forcing her way through the undead that populated the mountain she found herself in a difficult situation once she was in unfamiliar territory. She found herself getting lost in the surrounding forests, the terrain far different from the rocky terrain she was so used to. Yet she would continue forward undaunted, using what survival skills had been imparted to her to make the best of her situation.[break][break]
It was hard to say how many days she spent wandering the woods before coming across a group of friendly mages that were willing to help. This was how she met Jurianne Mondo, the woman that would serve as her mentor. While her uncle had imparted plenty of magical knowledge into his student he had neglected to teach her anything about the outside world aside from the fact that jewels were the most important key to survival.[break][break]
Jurianne kindly took the young mage under her wing, teaching her the basics of city life. She even took her all the way to the Metlain Plains to introduce her to the Magia Dragons, a group that she called a 'guild'. The idea of getting to work with other mages was too good to be true. Orla jumped at the chance to join their ranks, and she was willing to do whatever it took to join their ranks. Luckily her talents were quickly recognized, and with a recommendation from Jurianne she was accepted into the family. Now with her new friends at her side she continues to search the world for her uncle, fully confident that he's out there waiting for her.
